Fried Crab Sticksleo
When you want crab but can’t afford the genuine thing, these fried crab sticks will do. In the freezer area, look for “leg style” imitation crab. Imitation crab is naturally sweet, so I serve it with lemon wedges and cocktail sauce, but if you like it sweeter, dip it in sweet chili sauce.
Fried Crab SticksCuisine: appetizer
1/2 cup regular flour
2 big beaten eggs
2 cups bread crumbs (panko)
1 package (10.8 ounce) fake crab legs, sliced in half widthwise
the frying oil
- Heat the oil in a deep fryer (such as a FryDaddy®) or a big saucepan to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small basin, combine the flour and salt. In a separate dish, combine the eggs and panko. Dredge each crab leg in flour, then in egg, and last in panko to coat; set aside.
- Fry crab in tiny batches for about 1 minute, or until crisp. Drain on paper towels after removing with tongs or a slotted spoon.
